Remove Malware and Viruses with Malwarebytes

First off, we would recommend upgrading to the latest version which can be found here www.malwarebytes.org. Running Malwarebytes on a badly infected computer may not always work because the virus sometimes can block programs from opening. If that is the case try to boot up Windows in safe mode and then run Malwarebytes from there.

Here is a link for download: Malwarebytes

or you can purchase the Professional version here Malwarebytes

 Pre-Scan

Scanning for Malware

When you have all the latest updates applied. The next thing you want to do is click on the "Scanner" tab. Make sure you select "Perform Full Scan" as it will do a more detailed search for any malware that may be on your computer. We recommend not using your computer while this is running and it may take several hours depending on the size of your hard drive.

When you click scan in the lower right corner. You will see a pop up window asking what drives to scan. Select the drive you want scanned and then press "Start Scan". Make sure you scan the drive that your operating system is on. That is more than likely where the virus is living. No need to scan CD, External, and Network drives as those usually are unaffected.
