Setup Windows 7 VPN

To create VPN connection in Windows 7 you need to do the following steps:

1) Click START button on your desktop and select Control Panel there. When the Control Panel window appears click the “Network and Internet”.

2) When the Network and Internet window appears, select “Set up a new connection or network”

3) Click “Connect to a workplace” icon (highlighted by the red rectangle) in the bottom of the window, then click the next button

4) This image will be shown when you do not have connections to other networks. Click twice the icon “Use my internet connection (VPN)”

5) You will see the next picture if you already have some connections to the other networks. Leave the “no, create a new connection” balloon checked and click the Next button.

6) On the next screen enter your vpn account data. 
      In the “Internet Address” box type your vpn server address. This can be an IP address or name. 
      In the “Destination Name” box, you can enter the network name you wont (“VPN Connection” for example). Then click the next button to the text “Do not connect now, just set it up so I can connect later”. Then click the “next” button.

7) Then enter your vpn account username (usually first.second name ( not an email address)) and password. Then click the “create”.

8) On the following page please click the connect now icon,

You will be connected to the VPN and can continue to access the remote network.

 

To Connect or disconnect a VPN 

 

Hover over the network icon on the taskbar and left click. This will show the VPN's available, right click on the connection and select connect to connect to the VPN. If you are connected it will show as this and you can right click to disconnect.

A window may appear which will ask you for your username and password. Tick the "Save this user name ..." and once you have entered the data, click the “connect” button. This will be remembered for next time if the connection is made.

You are now connected to the site VPN through a secure VPN connection. If you are getting connection errors, or getting disconnected constantly from the vpn, please contact us via the support email and we will do our best to resolve your issue.

NB: Certain ISP's do not allow or disable VPN connectivity and we would suggest speaking to your ISP to ensure it is enabled or allowed.
